Imagine…getting your share of the DVD rental business.Over 50 MILLION DVD's are rented or sold every week in the US alone. How much time have you spent looking through all the racks in a video store trying to find something that looks interesting…? According to industry experts, at least 30 minutes…What a waste of time! The problem is even worse if you order your movies by mail. Getting approved can take days and then there is waiting for delivery by “snail mail”. Today’s customers want what they want and they want it right now. The Movie Industry is one of the most profitable and exciting businesses in the world. Almost 80% of the population rents movies on a regular basis. In fact, when times are hard, people are more likely to rent a movie and invite friends over to save money while still having fun. Last year more people bought more than $ 40,000,000,000 dollars and rented over $8,000,000,000 dollars worth of movies! That is 48 BILLION dollars in sales and rentals! Those sales and rentals accounted for 58% of Hollywood's total income...AND...DVD rentals are the largest, most profitable, and fastest growing part of that revenue It doesn't matter if it’s 2 am. Customers want to get their movie…right now! Those same industry experts will also tell most people decide to rent a movie on the spur of the moment. Do you really know what you'll want to watch the day after tomorrow…or how many movies you going to want to watch next month? What happens if you get sick or break a leg…? There are at least 4 ways of making money from your DVD Kiosk:
Rental Fees - The chart below gives you an idea of the potential movie rental income a single DVD Kiosk vending machine has.
So if you charge $4 per rental, you can reasonably expect to bring in between $2,400 (20 rentals/day) and $9,600 (80 rental/day) a month on rentals alone. The machine has a security system that can detect if a case is empty or if any movie other than the one rented is returned. In either of those cases, the customer's credit card will be charged for the full purchase price of the movie.
DVD Sales - Some consumers prefer to purchase the DVD's outright. This makes room for new releases, and allows you to liquidate inventory.
Membership Program - Many of your consumers will want to become part of your membership program to be eligible for discounts, special members only promotions and the ability to make online reservations. The membership program will allow the customer to have 3 movies out at a time and can be spread over more than one machines as long as they don't go over over the limit.
I'm sure you've seen the recent Netflix TV commercial which says, “You have a movie waiting for you at home.”
Here is what your customers can say to them, “So what, I had time to watch that movie two days ago, where was it then?”
In a recent interview, Reed Hastings, the founder of Netflix said, “You may think that (video-on-demand) or Blockbuster Online is our primary competition, but all of our research shows that local video stores remain the primary alternative to Netflix for consumers."
DVD Kiosks are an alternative to the local video store. You can become part of that competition by contacting us today!
Advertising - You can sell advertising space on your machine to local businesses as an additional income stream.
E-mail Promotions - You will be building a customer email list that can be used for all different kinds of additional promotions. Let us explain to you how to leverage this opportunity!
Your DVD Kiosk will even accept Cash for Purchasing Movies. Non-members can rent with a credit card or purchase with cash, members can rent or purchase with cash. Membership is optional, but if your customers are members they can check out a specific number of movies each month for a flat monthly fee.
The best part about the membership plan is that is can be spread across kiosks. Think of the convenience...your customer can rent from the machine near work during the week and the one near home on the weekend and return either one or both of the rentals at either location.
That’s all sounds Great, Chad, but how much expertise do I need to start making money with one of your kiosks?
Not a whole lot. If you can use the internet to send and receive email, purchase things online and check your bank account, you have all the skills needed to manage your Kiosk’s inventory. Everything is done over the internet. You can even do real time inventory verification remotely.
Some
of the other features include:
You can even offer your customers a reward for referring other customers.
Run ads on the 17 inch LCD screen when it isn't being used.
Show movie trailers on a separate screen to entice people to come over and rent or buy a movie.
Collect customers email addresses so you can send then notices of new promotions and receipts for purchases.
Provide promotional codes for discounts and special offers that can be redeemed at the kiosk.
Easy to use online management so you can monitor and update all aspects of your business such as as rental price, return date and purchase price from your home, office, or laptop!
We re busy working on an online reservation system that will allow your customers to go online and reserve their movies and just stop by the kiosk to pick them up.
Brick and mortar video stores buy their movies from local and national wholesale distributors. National and local distributors such as VPD, Baker & Taylor and Ingram Entertainment carry virtually every movie and video game available.
You can buy your movies from a distributor, or we can sell them to you at volume discounts. Please fell free to check with the distributors, but we seriously doubt that you will get the same prices that we can can offer you. You will need to do some research to see what titles are popular in the area you plan to put your DVD Kiosk so you can pick the best titles to stock.
You will need to get a merchant account so you can accept credit cards, remote access software (VNC Remote or PC Anywhere) and a computer to manage the machine.
Then fill out the contact form below so we can get in touch with you to discuss what you'll need to accomplish your business goals.
Sincerely,
Chad Bouldin
